David and Samantha Gildersleeve opened their studio in 2002.,in City Market, Savannah, GA., and now has moved to Wilmington Island, outside of historic Savannah, Ga. We specialize in paintings, illustrations, prints, giclees, cards and books.
David Gildersleeve began his long and illustrious art career while growing up in the great state of Texas. Comic books sparked an interest in art and also were his earliest teachers...Batman being his favorite subject during the young Gildersleeve's formative years. Later he would bounce around from art schools to regular colleges and back again, eventually earning a MFA degree, which lead to a teaching position at The Savannah College of Art and Design in their Sequential Art Department.
He also enjoys painting. He paints subjects that invade his subconscious, using a wonky style to help bring these images to life.Using textures and a selective palette, David creates a definite mood in his work that most people refer to as whimsical.
