Glass fused to copper jumps out at you!

COPPER WITH A LIFE OF ITS OWN: Take a flat piece of pure copper. Cut a shape out of it (much like a cookie cutter). Anneal the copper (a tedius process of controlled heating and cooling). Pickle and wash the copper. Hammer it, bend it, hammer it again until it begins to take on a 3D image. The cold forging process begins by using any of or a combination of a variety of stakes, anvils, hammers, pliers, chasing tools, punches or saws. The metal piece begins to take a life of its own. As evidenced by much of her work, the metal working techniques of repousse' and chasing are among her favorites. PRODUCT Spotlight                 The Geckos are coming! If you frequent art shows that pop up around the country, it's highly likely that you've run into Sharon Tobasko. She may even have given you one of her geckos. We've featured this product first because SST Studios, LTD. and geckos just seem to go together. It's fun and it's shiney. If you ask me, it's just plain cool. So go ahead, get a gecko! Everyone needs one!

News, announcement and highlight Welcome! As with all web sites, changes are on-going. So check back often.  Also, we appreciate any feedback. WE ARE OFFERING THREE WORKSHOPS ... All workshops are $150 per person/$250 per couple. They run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and all materials and lunch are included. Classes are limited to six adults per session. NEW THIS YEAR ... Branch of Leaves Workshop will involve making a copper branch upon which copper enameled leaves will be mounted. It will be offered on Sun., Jan. 13; Sat., Jan 19; Sat., Feb. 2; Sat., March 1; Sun., March 30. The Garden Art Workshop will allow the participant to make four pieces (couples will make a total of eight pieces)of enameled garden art...a butterfly, bee, dragonfly and ladybug. These are mounted on a three-foot copper rod plus a copper spring so they can weave and bob in the wind. The dates are Sat. Jan 26; Sun. Feb. 17; Sat. March 8; Sat. March 22. The Enameled Bead Workshop... Participants will be taught how to make copper enameled beads. You will be able to make as many beads as you like and then make them into a necklace or other adornment. Dates are Sun. Jan 20; Sun. Feb. 3; Sat., Feb. 9; Sun., March 23; and Sat., March 29. A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required at time of registration. (If the weather doesn't permit a class to be held or you are ill, we will move you to another class.) CALL 888-399-3233 to register or for additional information.
