On August 5^th, Greenleaf Wholesale – Tupelo presented the Roses + Romance = Revenue program in conjunction with Rio Roses of Miami. Presenter Raul Marrero spoke to a packed house of 60 retail florists on subjects ranging from branding their shop to new varieties of roses and everything in between. Marrero got the show off to a noisy start by asking everyone to stand up and look under their chair. This revealed a taped dollar bill, which Marrero used to illustrate his quote “If you want to make a buck, you have to get off your BUTT!

The dates are set and the stores and vendors are getting ready to pack up the perverbial tour bus and hit the road. As a reward for those customers that order and maintain their standing orders we are offering a grand prize. This year the Grand Prize is a full day seminar with Floral Business expert Gaylon Pyle plus a Flowers for Kids Training class. Each box that customers place on standing order give them one chance to win, the more boxes the more chances! The final drawling will be held on June 1, 2009

Greenleaf's new Color wheel is ready.

Greenleaf is pleased to announce that we have produced a "Fresh Flower Color Wheel" designed to help buyers and sellers identify specific colors. All of our buyers will have them as well as our preferred vendors and we invite our customers to purchase one or more as well. There are 92 pantone specific colors represented and a contact list for all Greenleaf locations.

Tropical Storm Fay fades

Tropical Storm Fay has rained on South Florida but has only managed to give children a few more days off school. The storm did minimal damage and seems to be fading as it wonders up the coast. It appears that the trucks departing for the rest of the country yesterday are ahead of the storm and by Thusday, the next big shipping day, that everything will return to normal.
