Hilbert’s Honey Co. began with humble roots in 1887, founded by James Hilbert Sr. Today, Larry and Geana Hilbert carry on the legacy, managing over 10,000 honeybee colonies, operating a custom production facility, and welcoming customers to their own retail storefront.
The honeybees spend their summers in Michigan, pollinating Michigan cherries, apples, and basswood trees. In the winter, the bees and staff migrate south in Florida for watermelon, Brazilian pepper, and tupelo blossom. In the spring, the bees make one more trip to the west to California for almond pollination.
