Remember, children are the pride and joy of their parent’s lives. If the kid remembers how awesome your store was, they’ll keep asking their parents to take them back to YOUR store. Eventually the parents will give in, especially if they enjoy your store as much as their kids. Plus, you’ll make an early impression on them. You’ll start building that relationship at a younger age and it will carry on into adulthood for them. Which then carries onto their children and their children. How do you market towards children?
Be A Kid’s Friend – Treat them as an actual customer. However, you have to mean it. They don’t like to be talked down to like they are kids. Show them that you truly appreciate them and love that they come into your store. Implement this in your store through your employees. Make sure they show kids respect whenever they walk through your doors. If you do this, it will be a beautiful beginning to a long term customer.
Walk In Their Shoes –Remember, children view things differently as adults. They view the look of your store differently and also cannot see certain things due to their height. Place items on shelves that are catered towards their heights. Make sure it’s in eye view and they can reach it. Target signage and advertisements towards them and MAKE SURE THEY CAN SEE IT! That’s the most important thing to remember.
Advertise –Create eye-catching advertisements towards kids. You want them to see it, so put it on their eye level where it will catch their attention. Advertise towards children. It doesn’t have to be much, just maybe a paper advertisement or candy. Just something that is catered towards kids. You can do something small or even hold a product release party just for children. There are many ways that you can advertise towards children that won’t allocate all your store’s resources. The main key to advertising towards children is getting creative.
Marketing towards children can be truly beneficial, especially with the help of these 3 marketing tips. Integrate them into your marketing plan. Starting to build relationships with children now will in turn product long term customers that will absolutely love visiting your store.
