Carbone Floral Distributors began in 1952 when Robert J. Carbone started pedaling buckets of gladiolas in his car, going into business for himself only one year later. Five years after that, he opened a brick and mortar store in Rhode Island. Today the company is housed in an 80,000 square foot building where the three main departments are housed. The business is still family-owned, more than five decades later.
They are a full-service wholesaler with three distinct departments–fresh flowers, greenhouse plants, and floral hard goods, each a fierce competitor in its own right. The Fresh Flowers Department features 250 varieties of flowers and cut greens brought in from four continents that include seasonal, flowering and hanging plants, as well as ivies, dish gardens, and foliage. They offer both fresh and silk flowers and dare you to be able to tell the difference. They also offer bamboo and Bonsai trees. The Greenhouse Department has more than 100 varieties of flowering plants. The Floral Hard Goods Department includes a plethora of items to complement the first two, from glassware, to pottery, baskets, ribbons, and even home decor. Not to be outdone with the flowers and plants, Carbone Floral Distributors also offers a nice selection of jewelry, tiaras, hairpins –even boutonniere holders. They also make it easy to march down the aisle with style. They can set you up with aisle runners, arches, decorative mirrors, bouquet and pew holders, vase fillers, gorgeous glass pedestal vases, and event lighting.
