Space is an amazing place. There are an infinite number of stars, planets, celestial bodies and unknown objects strewn throughout our universe, each discovery more amazing than the last. At times, the universe seems so big that it’s hard to comprehend what exactly is out there. Even our own solar system seems foreign to many people.

Celestial Buddies LLC wants to make the mysteries of the universe and our solar system seem a little bit more tangible, especially for younger audiences.

The Story

This is an original line of plush characters that personify the various celestial bodies that exist in our solar system. Jessie Silbert, the creator of Celestial Buddies LLC, got the idea for her wonderful products after watching a series of documentaries on the Solar System. After watching these documentaries, Jessie realized how complex our Solar System is, and how many theories and laws are involved in understanding it.

She designed Celestial Buddies to make understanding celestial bodies more accessible for people of all ages and educational backgrounds.

Jupiter

Jessie says that most solar system-themed toys are plastic and less friendly, such as mobiles and models, and they’re geared more toward older kids who already love science. Her Celestial Buddies are entirely different and new.

Celestial Buddies are cute, cuddly, soft, and each one has a unique style and personality that reflects the history of the planet, star, or celestial body.

All eight planets are represented (nine if you still count Pluto), along with the Sun, Earth’s Moon, a Comet, and even Pluto’s moon, Charon!

The Planets

Each Celestial Buddy has a fun fact attached to it, that helps kids learn about the certain celestial body. For example, Mercury is named after the Roman messenger god “whose speed was enhanced by his winged sandals.” The Mercury plush really plays off the speed theme, and comes with its own custom-made winged shoes, just like the Roman god! Mercury is also the closest planet to the Sun and has an average surface temperature that varies anywhere from 279 degrees Fahrenheit to 801 degrees Fahrenheit.

Jupiter, the largest planet in our Solar System, making this the tallest Celestial Buddy planet plushy; only the Sun is taller. This plush features a large, round body, big red nose, and an inquisitive look on its face.
